About Hawaiian Way Fund

The Hawaiian Way Fund is a fundraising program created by the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement (CNHA) to increase its ability to serve Native Hawaiian communities, built on the “Hawaiian Way” of meeting community needs, and designed to attract individual and corporate giving to things Hawaiian – social, educational, economic and cultural initiatives.  As a community development fund, with expert management and accountability, the Hawaiian Way Fund is a place where philanthropy directly touches Hawaiian communities.

Many general charitable funds deliver proceeds to organizations whose missions widely vary.  Often times, donors to these funds do not know whom their gifts actually help. The Hawaiian Way Fund is a unique and sensible medium where philanthropists can visibly invest in our Hawaiian communities while realizing the true impact of their gifts.

CNHA remains steadfast in its belief that Native Hawaiian communities hold many of the best solutions and ideas to addressing their challenges.  The Hawaiian Way Fund represents the support of community solutions that are tied to and celebrate the history, values and knowledge of the indigenous peoples of Hawai‘i in all areas of community-well being, whether in the delivery of education, healthcare, affordable housing, language or cultural and environmental practices – truly supporting 2,000 years of good ideas.
