Donor Gifts at WorkThe Hawaiian Way Fund has a deliberate focus, to benefit small, grassroots organizations maintaining significant cultural and community service programs. The Hawaiian Way fund aims to practice a distinctly Hawaiian way of giving – giving that is based not on the longest track record or the most ambitious plan, but giving that recognizes modest but important contributions, that places a priority on culture and community, and that is most generous where needs are the greatest. The Hawaiian Way Fund supports three areas of community development as follows: (1) Partner Recipients comprised of Native Hawaiian nonprofit, member organizations; (2) Capacity-building in Native Hawaiian communities; (3) The Annual Native Hawaiian Conference.

Hawaiian Way Fund Partner Recipient Application Eligibility
CNHA’s smaller, nonprofit members with an operating budget of less than $5 million, who deliver social, economic, cultural and other programming in Native Hawaiian communities, are eligible to receive distributions.
Such organizations may apply to be designated in the Hawaiian Way Fund as Partner Recipients. This designation qualifies an organization to receive distributions from Hawaiian Way Fund general donations and donor designated funds.
Hawaiian Way Fund Partner Recipients are screened carefully in an extensive application review process by an Advisory Committee comprised of successful business and financial industry individuals. Hawaiian Way Fund Partner Recipients are held to firm accountability standards.
The Hawaiian Way Fund is governed by the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement and its Board of Directors.
For information on becoming a Partner Recipient, call 808-521-5011.
